Today’s race
represented the steamy 355th running of the monthly Tidal Basin
3K. Maurice Harford was the overall
winner in 9:54, with Alex Filides and Ted Poulos finishing second and third, in
9:56 and 10:02, respectively. Finish
line volunteers included Ray Blue, Mike Fox-Boyd, and John Winkert. The official starter and timer was Chuck
Raper Jr.; Chuck and James Moreland assisted in compiling the official
results. In addition to working the
finish line, Ray Blue provided drinking water for the runners. Race Director Jay Wind’s stand-in for the
355th running was Anne Pastorkovich. The next Tidal Basin 3K race
will be at noon on Wednesday, September 17, 2003.
